Hakone, Japan
02
One quick bullet train ride later, and I'm transported to Hakone, a beautiful mountainous region known for their onsens, spectacular views of the iconic Mt. Fuji, and the boiling sulphur vents of Owakudani valley. It collectively took everyone's breath away when the ropeways rose to the point where Mt. Fuji was suddenly before us. And overwhelmingly so. A brief moment of silence rippled through as we all stared in awe at its expansiveness. Don't forget to eat the Owakudani black eggs, hard-boiled in natural hot springs. I returned home that night, smelling like sulphur from head to toe, but utterly satisfied.
